Decision details

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out carriageway resurfacing, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works northbound via A272 North Chailey to Maresfield – A22 Maresfield to Little Horsted – A26 Little Horsted to Lewes – A2029 Eastgate Street – A277 High Street – A277 Western Road & southbound via A277 Western Road – A277 High Street – A2029 Market Street – A2029 North Street – A2029 Little East Street – A26 Lewes to Little Horsted – A22 Little Horsted to Maresfield – A272 Maresfield to North Chailey

The Order commences 23 April 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 23 & 30 April 2019 depending upon the weather conditions.
