Purpose:

To allow South East Water to carry out new connection works / new water main works and associated services, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Decision:

The Order commences 22 June 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken for the durations stated above, depending upon the weather conditions.

Phase 1
B2101 High Cross - from the junction with C12 Cottage Hill to the junction with U7570 Sheriffs Lane (works are a distance of 1006 metres).

Diversion route for through traffic via B2101 Mayfield Road – B2100 Station Road – Catts Hill – A267 Mayfield Road – Tunbridge Wells Road – B2101 Bicycle Arms Road and vice versa.

Phase 2
B2101 Bicycle Arms Road - from the junction with U7570 Sheriffs Lane to the junction with A267 Argos Hill (works are a distance of 850 metres).

Diversion route for through traffic via B2101 High Cross – B2101 Mayfield Road – B2100 Station Road – Catts Hill – A267 Mayfield Road – Tunbridge Wells Road and vice versa.

Phase 1 and 2 closures will run consecutively between 22 June and 21 October 2019.

U7580 Skippers Hill - from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road to the junction with U7579 Stonehurst Lane (works are a distance of 190 metres).

Diversion route for through traffic via U7579 Holly Beech Lane – A267 Mayfield Road and vice versa.

It is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 15 July and 7 August 2019.

U7579 Stonehurst Lane - from the junction with U7580 Skippers Hill to outside a property known as Woodreed Farm, (works are a distance of 450 metres).

Diversion route for through traffic via U7579 Stonehurst Lane – U7580 Brick Kiln Lane – U7580 Criers Lane – U7580 Skippers Hill and vice versa.

It is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 8 August and 23 September 2019.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
