Decision details

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out surface dressing works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 12 August 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above, but may be subject to change depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closures
Pump Lane - from the junction with B2102 Blackboys Road to the junction with U7512 Palehouse Common.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 23 August to 27 August 2019 (5 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via U7512 Palehouse Common – U7403 Brookhouse Lane – B2102 High Street and vice versa.

Pound Lane - from the junction with U7507 Gatehouse Lane to the junction with U7506 Barn Lane.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 27 August to 30 August 2019 (4 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via U7404 Pound Lane – B2102 Framfield Road – U7405 Gun Road – U7406 Shepherds Hill – U7404 Pound Lane and vice versa.

Framfield Road - from the junction with U7509 Stonebridge Lane to the entrance of the property known as Three Oaks Farm.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 27 August to 30 August 2019 (4 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via B2102 Blackboys Road – The Street – Hammonds Green – Bird in Eye Hill – Newtown – Bell Lane – A22 Uckfield Bypass – Eastbourne Road – B2192 Heathfield Road and vice versa.

Sandy Lane - from the junction with A275 Lewes Road to the junction with C3 Beaconsfield Road

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 28 August to 30 August 2019 (3 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via A275 Lewes Road – C3 Beaconsfield Road and vice versa.

Batts Bridge Road - from the junction with A22 Batts Bridge roundabout to the mini roundabout at the junction with C33 Straight Half Mile.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 28 August to 30 August 2019 (3 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via A22 Maresfield Bypass – B2026 Straight Half Mile – C33 Straight Half Mile and vice versa.

Maresfield Bypass - from A22 Blackdown roundabout to A272 Batts Bridge roundabout. The restriction is anticipated to be in place from 20:00 hours to 05:00 hours, 27 August to 28 August 2019 (2 nights).
Alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works as follows;
Light Vehicles via C34 Batts Bridge Road – C33 High Street – A26 Uckfield Bypass and vice versa.
HGVs via A22 Maresfield Bypass – B2026 Lampool Road – C3 New Road – A26 Uckfield Road – A26 Uckfield Bypass and vice versa.

Colemans Hatch Road - from the junction with A22 Wych Cross to the Townsend car park.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 28 August and 29 August 2019 (2 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via C2 Colemans Hatch Road – C473 Shepherds Gate – B2110 Hartfield Road – A22 Lewes Road and vice versa.

New Road - from the junction with B2026 Duddleswell Road, to the junction with A26 Uckfield Road.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place 29 August to 3 September 2019 (6 days). Alternative route for through traffic signed via B2026 Duddleswell Road – B2026 Lampool Road – B2026 Straight Half Mile – A22 Maresfield Bypass – A26 Uckfield Bypass – A26 Mill Pond Road – A26 Five Ash Down – A26 Uckfield Road and vice versa.
