Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out carriageway patching works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Decision:

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Eastbourne Road - A259 Sutton Road – A259 Sutton Park Road – A259 Clinton Place – A259 Station Approach – A259 Claremont Road – A259 Buckle Bypass – A259 Newhaven Road – A259 Seaford Road – A259 The Drove – A259 Drove Road – A259 New Road - A26(T) Newhaven to Beddingham – A27(T) Beddingham to Polegate – A2270 Eastbourne Road – A2270 Willingdon Road – A2270 Upperton Road – A259 The Goffs – A259 High Street – A259 Church Street – A259 East Dean Road – A259 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 23 September 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 & 20 December 2019 depending upon the weather conditions.

Eastbourne Road /East Dean Road /Seaford Road /Friston Hill /Eastbourne Road - from the junction of U5411 Chyngton Gardens to the junction of C37 Gilberts Drive.
