Purpose:
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
carriageway resurfacing works, East Sussex County Council have made
an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the
following length of road;
Decision:
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians
and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained
whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic
signed and maintained for the duration of the works via A26 Rose
Hill – A26 Lewes Road – A22 Uckfield Bypass – A22
Eastbourne Road – B2192 Lewes Road – B2192 Terrible
Down Road – B2192 The Broyle – B2192 Lewes Road and
vice versa.
The Order commences 24 February 2019 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 24
February 2019 and 3 March 2019 depending upon the weather
conditions.
Alternative options considered:
Temporary Road Closure - from 20:00 hours to
06:00 hours
A26 Uckfield Road - from the junction of C677 Barcombe Mills Road
to a point 385 metres south of the junction of U5014 Wellingham
Lane.
