Purpose:
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex
County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Decision:
Temporary Road Closure
Kewhurst Avenue – at its junction with U6539 Withyham Road
for a distance of 30 metres
Withyham Road - from its junction with P6597 Brackerne Close to
Gillham Wood Nature Reserve
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic via U6539 Hawkhurst Way -
U6517 Shipley Lane / Tilgate Drive / Gillham Wood Road - U6516
Kewhurst Avenue - B2182 Cooden Sea Road - U6539 Withyham Road and
vice versa.
The Order commences 30 May 2022 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 May
& 11 July 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.
