17/09/2021 - The East Sussex (U5472 Croft Lane & U5471 Sutton Croft Lane, Seaford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2021 ref: 1530    Recommendations Approved

To allow Cheesmur Building Contractors to safely carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5526 Broad Street - U5472 High Street - C36 East Street - U5472 Croft Lane.

The Order commences 21 September 2021 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 September & 13 December 2021 depending upon the weather conditions.

17/09/2021 - The East Sussex (A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2021 ref: 1529    Recommendations Approved

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out carriageway resurfacing works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Seaside Road - A2021 Whitley Road / Bedfordwell Road / Lewes Road / Prideux Road / Kings Drive - A2280 Cross Levels Way.

The Order commences 20 September 2021 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 20 September & 1 October 2021 depending upon the weather conditions.

17/09/2021 - The East Sussex (Skyline Events London to Brighton Cycle Event)(Special Event) Order 2021 ref: 1528    Recommendations Approved

To facilitate the safety of participants, organisers and the travelling public attending the Skyline London to Brighton cycle event, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

C203 Upper Beacon Road & C203 Ditchling Road, Ditchling – from the junction of U5240 Underhill Lane to the Brighton & Hove City council boundary, a distance of 4895 metres.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed via south on Ditchling Road toward Coldean Lane. Turn right onto Coldean Lane. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Carden Avenue. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A27 ramp to Worthing/London/Hove/A23. Merge onto A27. Take the ramp to A23/London/Brighton/Gatwick Airport. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A27. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto London Road/A23. Slight left onto A273. Turn right onto Underhill Lane and vice versa.

Access by emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

07/09/2021 - Tender Award for the Provision of Residential Care, and Care and Support to people with Learning Disabilities in the Hastings and Rother area ref: 1527    Recommendations Approved

These are existing residential services supporting up to 30 adults with a learning disability, and the tender was required due to the current contract coming the end of the term.

To allow SGN to carry out gas main and service replacement works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
