We believe that these increases, especially in a time of national crisis, would be hugely detrimental to the local economy and the independent businesses which rely on visitors and residents to shop in their establishments. The livelihood of a considerable number of business owners and their staff are reliant on individuals and groups being able to park for long periods of time and shop locally.
Covid-19 has hit the local economy hard and we ask that ESCC reconsider and reverse the proposed parking charges and in doing so, support the local economy and assist in its survival and revival.
