This library was built with money raised by the local community and was opened by the chair of the council just over a year ago. It is very cheap to run and enhances the lives of hundreds of people. The lending figures also buck the county reduction (-21%) by being just 2% less than the base year, despite a cut in opening hours of more than 10%. People need libraries to be local, not a bus ride or a car journey away.
