Purpose:

The Leader is recommended to approve the amendments to the County Council’s Policy in relation to the use of Covert Investigative Techniques (‘the Policy’) as set out in Appendix 1 to the Lead Member Report.

16.2     The Leader and Lead Member RESOLVED to approve the amendments to the County Council’s Policy in relation to the use of Covert Investigative Techniques (‘the Policy’) as set out in Appendix 1 of the report.

 

Reasons

 

16.3     The Policy is reviewed on an annual basis to comply with the requirements of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 200 (as amended) and the Investigative Powers Act 2016.  The Policy has been assessed as part of an accessibility review and the changes ensure the Policy is equally available to people with a diverse range of abilities.
