Decision details

To allow South East Water to carry out water main connections, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 7 May 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken for the durations stated between 7 May 2019 and 20 December 2019 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closures
C18 Brightling Road - from its junction with C281 Hollingrove Road to the property known as Brightling Farm Place, a distance of 195 metres
The road will be closed from 7 May to 9 June 2019. Diversion via C18 Station Road – C18 High Street – C18 George Hill – A21 Johns Cross – A2100 London Road – C96 Netherfield Hill – B2096 Darwell Hill – C280 Cackle Street – C18 Rectory Hill and vice versa.

The road will be closed from 7 May to 9 June 2019. Diversion via C18 Station Road – C18 High Street – C18 George Hill – A21 Johns Cross – A2100 London Road – C96 Netherfield Hill – B2096 Darwell Hill – C280 Cackle Street – C18 Rectory Hill and vice versa.

C280 Cackle Street – from its junction with B2096 Darwell Hill to the property known as Twelve Oaks Cottages
The road will be closed from 5 July to 20 December 2019. Diversion via B2096 Battle Road – C18 Brightling Road – C18 Deer Park Road – C18 Brightling Village – C18 Rectory Hill and vice versa.

C281 Hollingrove Road – from its junction with C18 Brightling Road to its junction with U6413 Kent Lane
The road will be closed from 10 June to 20 December 2019. Diversion via C18 Rectory Hill – C280 Cackle Street and vice versa.
