Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out carriageway surfacing works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works via A2101 Queens Road – A2101 Albert Road – A259 Denmark Place – A259 Pelham Place – A259 East Parade – A259 East Beech Street – A259 The Bourne – A259 Old London Road – C551 Priory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 June 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 10 June and 26 July 2019 depending upon the weather conditions.

C212 Elphinstone Road / C457 Mount Pleasant Road - from its junction with A2101 Parkgates Roundabout to its junction with U3200 Calvert Road, a distance of 835 metres.
