Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out traffic signal junction replacement works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

The Order commences 24 June 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 24 June and 2 August 2019 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closure
U2155 Firle Road - from the junction with A2021 Whitley Road to the junction with U2154 Dursley Road

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works via U2156 Cavendish Avenue – U2149 Ashford Road – U2146 Cavendish Place – A2040 Upper Avenue Roundabout – A2040 Upper Avenue – A2021 Bedfordwell Road – A2021 Whitley Road and vice versa.
