Decision details

To allow Network Rail to carry out civil engineering works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as follows;

Light Vehicles via A259 Eastbourne Road – A259 Pevensey Bay Road – A259 Martello Roundabout – A259 Pevensey Bay Road – A259 Crumbles Roundabout – A259 Pevensey Bay Road – A259 Langney Roundabout – B2104 Langney Rise – B2104 Hide Hollow Roundabout – B2191 Hide Hollow – B2191 Priory Roundabout – B2191 Hide Hollow – B2191 Eastbourne Road – B2191 High Street – B2191 Castle Road – B2191 High Street and vice versa

The Order commenced 29 July 2019 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken between 21 and 24 February 2020 depending upon the weather conditions.
