Purpose:

To allow Blu-3(UK) Ltd contractors on behalf of East Sussex County Council to carry out carriageway reconstruction and repair works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the following lengths of road:-

As works progress and exact dates of the closure are known, consultation, a public notice and advanced warning signage will be issued and placed on site.

Alternative options considered:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit & Temporary Overnight Road Closures
Uckfield Bypass - from the junction with B2102 Bell Farm Road to A22 Little Horsted Roundabout

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2102 Bell Farm Road – New Town – C58 Lewes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 March 2020 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated restrictions will be in place as detailed below;

Speed Limit – from 30 March 2020 to 31 March 2021.
Road Closures – from 20:00 hours to 05:00 hours for a duration of up to 1 week on 2 separate occasions between 1 September 2020 and 31 March 2021
