Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out carriageway resurfacing works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic westbound via A259 Church Street – A259 High Street – A259 The Goffs – A259 Upperton Road – A259 Station Parade – A259 Station roundabout – A259 Terminus Road – A259 Ashford Road – A259 Susans Road – A259 Seaside Road – U2145 Cavendish Place – B2106/ B2103 Grand Parade – B2103 King Edwards Parade – B2103 Dukes Drive – B2103 Upper Dukes Drive – B2103 Beachy Head Road – B2103 Warren Hill Road
eastbound via B2103 Warren Hill Road - B2103 Beachy Head Road - B2103 Upper Dukes Drive - B2103 Dukes Drive - B2103 King Edwards Parade - B2103 Grand Parade – B2106 Devonshire Place – A259 Memorial roundabout – A259 South Street – A259 Gildredge Road – A259 Terminus Road – A259 Station roundabout – A259 Upperton Road - A259 The Goffs - A259 High Street - A259 Church Street.

The Order commences 23 June 2020 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 20 and 28 August 2020 depending upon the weather conditions.
