To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
drainage works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under
Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the
following lengths of road;
The Order commences 6 April 2021 and lasts for
a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever
is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be
undertaken between 6 & 23 April 2021 depending upon the weather
conditions.

Temporary Road Closure
Ditchling Road – from its junction with A275 The Street to
its junction with A275 Cooksbridge Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic via B2116 Lewes Road
– B2112 South Street – B2112 Clayton Road – B2112
New Road (WSX)) – A273 Clayton Hill (WSX) – A23T London
Road – A27T – A275 Brighton Road – A275 Nevill
Road – A275 Offham Road – A275 The Street and vice
versa.
Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit
The Street – from its junction with B2116 Ditchling Road for
a distance of 40 metres in a southerly direction.
Cooksbridge Road – from its junction with B2116 Ditchling
Road for a distance of 100 metres in a northerly direction.
