Decision details

To allow Barkemp Construction Ltd to facilitate junction improvements, resurfacing and road marking works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily introduce the following restrictions;

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as follows;
Vehicles on A26 travelling to Lewes via A26 to Little Horsted – A22 Little Horsted to Polegate – A27 (T) Polegate to Lewes
Vehicles on B2192 travelling to Lewes via B2192 to Halland – A22 Halland to Polegate – A27(T) Polegate to Lewes
Vehicles on A26 travelling to Uckfield via A26 Cuilfail Tunnel – A27(T) Lewes to Polegate – A22 Polegate to Uckfield
Vehicles on B2192 travelling to Uckfield via B2192 to Halland – A22 Halland to Uckfield

The Order commences 1 June 2021 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated restrictions will be in place as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closures - 13 September to 1 October 2021 from 19:30hrs to 06:00hrs;
Earwig Corner Junction resurfacing/road marking works;
A26 Uckfield Road, Stoneham, Ringmer / A26 Malling Down, Lewes / B2192 Ringmer Road, Ringmer –from the junction with Earwig Corner for a distance of 100 metres in all directions
