To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
carriageway repair works, East Sussex County Council have made an
Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the
following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Pound Green / The Toll / Curtains Hill / Main Road - from the
junction with C11 School Lane to the junction with U7903 Howbourne
Lane
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic via A272 Main Road -
Summer Hill – A267 Heathfield Road – B2239 Mayfield
Flat – B2102 Lewes Road – B2192 Lewes Road – A22
Eastbourne Road - Uckfield Bypass – A272 Budletts Lane -
Buxted Road - High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 22 October 2021 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
20:00hrs to 05:00hrs on 22 and 23 October 2021 depending upon the
weather conditions.
