To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of
road;
Temporary Road Closures
Nevill Road - from the junction with A277 Western Road to the
junction with A277 Spital Road
Diversion via A277 Western Road – A277 Spital Road and vice
versa
Winterbourne Hollow - from the junction with A277 Brighton Road to
the junction with U5103 Valley Road
Diversion southbound via A277 Western Road - A277 High Street -
A2029 Market Street - A2029 North Street - A2029 Little East Street
- A2029 Eastgate Street - B2193 Friars Walk - B2193 Lansdown Place
- B2193 Station Road - B2193 Priory Street - B2193 Southover High
Street - C7 Bell Lane & northbound via B2193 Southover High
Street – B2193 Priory Street - B2193 Station Road - A277 High
Street - A277 Western Road
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 23 November 2022 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23
& 26 November 2022 depending upon the weather conditions.
