To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East
Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and
15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which
will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Horam Road - from its junction with C114 Chiddingly Road to
Gamelands Lodge.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Horam Road/Little
London Road/Cross In Hand/Mayfield Road/Heathfield Road –
A272 Summer Hill/Main Road/Curtains Hill/The Toll/Pound Green/High
Street/Station Road/Lephams Bridge Road/Buxted Road/Budletts
Lane/London Road – A26 Budletts roundabout/Uckfield bypass
– A22 Blackdown roundabout/Uckfield bypass/Eastbourne
Road/East Hoathly bypass/South Street/Whitesmith/Holmes Hill/Golden
Cross/The Dicker – A267 New North Street/North
Street/Eastbourne Road.
The Order commences 23 January 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 22:00hrs
on 23 January to 05:00hrs on 24 January 2023 depending upon the
weather conditions.
