Purpose:
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of
road;

Temporary Road Closures
Malling Street / Malling Hill / Malling Down / Uckfield Road - from
the Cuilfail roundabout to the junction with C112 Ham Lane
Diversion via A26 Uckfield Road, Rose Hill, Lewes Road, Little
Horstead roundabout - A22 Uckfield bypass, Copwood roundabout,
Uckfield bypass, Black Down roundabout, Maresfield bypass, Batts
Bridge roundabout, A272 Batts Bridge Road, Goldbridge Road, High
Street, Western Road, Station Road - A275 East Grinstead Road,
Chailey Green Road, South Street, South Road, Resting Oak Hill,
Cooksbridge Road, The Street, Offham Road, Nevill Road - A277
Brighton Road - A27 Ashcombe roundabout, Lewes bypass, Southerham
roundabout, A26 Southerham Road, Cuilfail Tunnel and vice
versa.
Lewes Road - from the junction with A26 Malling Down to the
junction with B2194 Laughton Road
Diversion via B2192 The Broyle, Terrible Down, Lewes Road - A22
Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass, Little Horstead roundabout - A22
Uckfield bypass, Copwood roundabout, Uckfield bypass, Black Down
roundabout, Maresfield bypass, Batts Bridge roundabout, A272 Batts
Bridge Road, Goldbridge Road, High Street, Western Road, Station
Road - A275 East Grinstead Road, Chailey Green Road, South Street,
South Road, Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge Road, The Street, Offham
Road, Nevill Road - A277 Brighton Road - A27 Ashcombe roundabout,
Lewes bypass, Southerham roundabout, A26 Southerham Road, Cuilfail
Tunnel and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 13 March 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13
March & 3 April 2023 depending upon the weather
conditions.
