Purpose:
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of
road;
Decision:
Temporary Road Closures - from 19:00hrs and
06:00hrs
East Hoathly Bypass / South Street - from the junction with C13
Park Lane to the junction with A22 The Shaw roundabout
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 June & 21
July 2023
Diversion via A22 Eastbourne Road – B2192 Lewes Road,
Terrible Down, The Broyle - B2124 Laughton Road, Lewes Road - A22
Holmes Hill, Whitesmith and vice versa.
Eastbourne Road / East Dean Road - from the junction with C37
Gilberts Drive to the junction with U2302 Pashley Road
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 June & 21
July 2023
Diversion via A259 Eastbourne Road - A259 Friston Hill – A259
Seaford Road – A259 East Dean Road - A259 Eastbourne Road -
A259 Sutton Road – A259 Sutton Park Road – A259 Clinton

Eldon Road - from the junction with A2270 Willingdon Road to the
junction with C695 Victoria Drive
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 30 June & 22
July 2023
Diversion via A2270 Willingdon Road - U2083 Cobbold Road - Stuart
Avenue - Baldwin Avenue - C695 Victoria Drive and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 1 June 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.
