To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of
road;
Temporary Road Closures
Shepherds Hill / Cat Street / Gallipot Hill / Newtons Hill /
Hartfield Road - from the junction with A22 London Road to the
junction with B2026 Jib Jacks Hill
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 June & 21
July 2023
Diversion via B2026 Jib Jacks Hill - Chuck Hatch Road - High Road
– C3 Crowborough Road – A22 Millbrook Hill - Wych Cross
- Lewes Road - London Road and vice versa.
School Lane - from the junction with U7492 Baxters Lane to the
junction with A275 London Road
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 1 June & 30
July 2023
Diversion via C5 Stone Quarry Lane – C3 Beaconsfield Road
– A275 Lewes Road - London Road and vice versa.
New Town - from the junction with U7880 River Way to Highlands
roundabout
Restriction is anticipated to be in place from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs
between 1 June & 20 June 2023
Diversion via C58 Lewes Road – A22 Uckfield bypass –
B2102 Bell Farm Road - Bell Lane - High Street and vice
versa.
To facilitate these works access for B2102 Framfield Road at the
junction with the B2102 New Town will be via C58 Lewes Road –
A22 Uckfield bypass - Eastbourne Road – B2192 Heathfield Road
- Lewes Road – B2102 High Street - Framfield Road and vice
versa.
Lewes Road - from the junction with A22 Uckfield bypass to
Highlands roundabout
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 15 June & 27
June 2023
Diversion via A22 Uckfield bypass – C26 Eastbourne Road and
vice versa.
Elm Way - from the junction with U7352 Mulberry Way to the junction
with U7352 Aspen Walk
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 19 June & 14
July 2023
Bartley Mill Road - from the junction with B2169 Furnace Lane to
the junction the C82 Monks Lane
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 27 July & 15
August 2023
Diversion via C82 Monks Lane - Newbury Lane – B2100 Cousley
Wood Road - Sparrows Green Road – B2099 Durgates - Station
Road - Station Hill - Frant Road, Riverhall Hill - Wadhurst Road
– A267 Mayfield Road – C81 The Green - Bells Yew Green
Road - B2169 Bayham Road and vice versa.
Argos Hill / Tunbridge Wells Road / Mayfield Road / Frant Green
Road / Frant Road / Mayfield Bypass - from the junction with A267
Mayfield roundabout to the junction with C70 Bunny Lane
Restriction is anticipated to be in place from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs
between 12 June & 30 August 2023
Diversion via C70 Bunny Lane - A26 Eridge Road - Beacon Road -
Uckfield Road - Five Ash Down - Mill Pond Road - A272 Budletts Lane
- Station Road - High Street - Pound Green - Main Road - Summer
Hill – A267 Mayfield Road - Wellbrook Hill - Mayfield bypass
- Tunbridge Wells Road - Argos Hill and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 1 June 2023 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.
