Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
St Helens Road - from the junction with A21 Sedlescombe Road North to the junction with U3040 King Edward Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2101 St Helens Road – U3029 Parkstone Road – U3008 Hillside Road – B2093 The Ridge, Conquest roundabout, The Ridge – A2100 The Ridge, Junction Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North and vice versa.

The Order commenced 25 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 July & 3 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
