Purpose:

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
Queens Road - from the junction with U3183 Cornwallis Street to the junction with U3169 South Terrace.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic westbound via A2101 Queens Road, Albert Road - A259 Denmark Place, White Rock, Verulam Place, Eversfield Place, Grand Parade - A2102 London Road - A21 London Road, Sedlescombe Road North - A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road and eastbound via A2101 Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout, St Helens Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road - A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square - A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place, White Rock, Denmark Place - A2101 Albert Road, Queens Road.

The Order commences 17 August 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 & 26 August 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
