To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, which will temporarily close the following length of
road;
Temporary Road Closure
North Way / The Drove - from the junction with A259 Lewes Road to
the junction with A259 B&Q Roundabout.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A259 Drove
Road – A26 New Road - A26(T) New Road – A26(T)
Beddingham Road – A26(T) Newhaven Road – A27(T)
Ranscombe Hill – A27(T) Lewes bypass – A27(T) Brighton
Road - B2123 The Drove – B2123 Falmer Road (B&H) –
C9260 Warren Road (B&H) – Wilson Avenue (B&H) –
B2118 Roedean Road (B&H) – A259 Marine Drive (B&H)
– A259 Marine Drive, South Coast Road, Brighton Road, Lewes
Road & westbound via A259 Brighton Road, South Coast Road,

The Order commences 11 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 11 & 12
November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
