Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closures
Eastbourne Road - from the junction with P5646 Chyngton Lane North to the junction with C120 Littlington Road.

East Dean Road - from the junction with C120 Littlington Road eastwards for 1200 metres.

Eastbourne Road / East Dean Road - from the junction with C37 Gilberts Drive to the junction with B2103 Warren Hill Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Eastbourne Road, Lewes Road, Drusillas roundabout, Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road - A27 Beddingham roundabout – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, B&Q roundabout, The Drove, Denton roundabout, Seaford Road, Newhaven Road, Buckle bypass, Claremont Road, Station Approach, Clinton Place, Sutton Park Road, Sutton Road, Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 & 30 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
