Purpose:

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
Queens Road - from the junction with U3188 Elford Street to the junction with U3188 Stonefield Place.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via A2101 Queens Road, Albert Road - A259 Denmark Place, Carlisle Parade, White Rock, Verulam Place, Eversfield Place, Grand Parade - A2102 London Road - A21 London Road, Sedlescombe Road North - A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road and southbound via A2101 Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout, St Helens Road - A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road - A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square - A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place, White Rock, Carlisle Parade, Denmark Place - A2101 Albert Road, Queens Road.

The Order commences 24 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 May & 2 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
