Purpose:

To approve commissioning Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to undertake a financial resilience and governance review. This would be required should the Council need to seek Exceptional Financial Support to enable the balanced 2026/27 budget to be set.

10.1     The Lead Member considered a report by the Chief Finance Officer.

 

DECISIONS

 

10.2     The Lead Member RESOLVED to approve the commissioning of CIPFA to undertake a Financial Assurance and Governance Review.

 

REASONS

 

10.3     If the Council is to explore Exceptional Financial Support with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, it will be required to undertake a CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) Financial Assurance and Governance Review.
