To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Hempstead Lane - from the junction with B2104 London Road to the junction with U7193 Anglesey Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via C1078 Hempstead Lane – A22 Hailsham Bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham Bypass, Arlington Eagles roundabout – A295 South Road, George Street, North Street, High Street – B2202 London Road – B2104 London Road and westbound via B2104 London Road – B2202 London Road – A295 High Street, North Street, George Street, South Road – A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout, Hailsham Bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham Bypass, Boship roundabout, Hailsham Bypass - C1078 Hempstead Lane.

The Order commences 28 July 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 July & 29 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
