Decision details

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures
Laundry Lane - from the junction with C208 Horebeech Lane to the junction with C406 Nettlesworth Lane.
Diversion via C208 Horebeech Lane - A267 High Street - B2203 High Street, Maynards Green, Hailsham Road, Tower Street - A265 Burwash Road - B2096 Battle Road, Cade Street - C589 Old Heathfield Road - C406 School Hill, Nettlesworth Lane and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 5 January & 20 March 2026.

Vines Cross Road - at its junction with Laundry Lane.
Diversion via C595 Vines Cross Road - B2203 High Street - A267 High Street - C208 Horebeech Lane - C406 Laundry Lane and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 & 22 February 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 5 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.
