Purpose:

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Order, coming into effect on 13 February 2026, under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which introduces new, removes or revises the existing parking, waiting and loading restrictions in the following lengths of road in connection with the introduction of a new Pedestrian Zone in Terminus Road (between Seaside Road and Grand Parade) as part of the next phase of the Town Centre improvement scheme:-

Decision:

Changes to Prohibition of Waiting At Any Time in: Burlington Road, Seaside Road, Terminus Road, Trinity Trees.

Changes to Prohibition of Waiting, No Loading / Unloading At Any Time in: Langney Road, Seaside Road, Terminus Road, Trinity Trees.

Changes to Ambulance Parking Places in: Grand Parade.

Changes to Disabled Badge Holders only maximum stay 3 hours no return within 2 hours in: Seaside Road.

Changes to Pay and Display Places in: Grand Parade, Terminus Road.

Removal of Goods Vehicle Loading Bays in: Terminus Road.

Removal of Permit Holders or Pay and Display in: Terminus Road.

Introduction of Pedestrian Zone, no waiting at any time in: Terminus Road (between Seaside Road and Burlington Road).

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of 6 February 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
