Purpose:

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Decision:

Station Road - from the junction with U7219 Lindfield Drive to the junction with U7213 Swan Road.
Diversion via C411 Station Road, Downash Road, Saltmarsh Lane - B2104 Ersham Road - A295 South Road, George Street and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 2 March & 1 May 2026.

Downash Road - from the junction with U7213 Swan Road to the junction with C411 Saltmarsh Lane.
Diversion via C411 Downash Road, Saltmarsh Lane - B2104 Ersham Road - A295 South Road, George Street - C411 Station Road and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 5 May & 12 June 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 5 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.
