Purpose:

To consider a report regarding the updates to Road Safety Policies.

 

Decisions:

31.1     The Lead Member considered a report by the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport.

 

31.2     The Lead Member requested that easy to understand guidance is produced and published alongside the revised Policies, to assist the public.   

 

DECISION

 

31.3     RESOLVED to approve the revised policies for Road Safety set out as Policy Summaries PS5/01 to PS5/11 in Appendix 1 and approve the recommendations in respect to existing policies set out in Appendix 2.

 

Reasons

 

31.4       The current road safety policies need to be updated following revisions to the national legislation and guidance.  Adopting the revised policies set out in Appendix 1 and accompanying working practice will ensure the Road Safety team’s work is undertaken in the best interests of all highway users and the County Council.
