For the purpose of avoiding or reducing the
likelihood of danger and for the purpose of preventing or reducing
damage and to facilitate protective security measures for the
Airbourne Event, East Sussex County Council have made an Order
under Sections 14(1)(b), 22(C) and 22(D) together with the powers
contained under Section 92 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
as amended, which will enable the following temporary measures to
be imposed as required;
The Order shall come into force from 06.00hrs
Friday 10 August 2018 until 06.00hrs Wednesday 22 August 2018 or
when it is considered that the measures are no longer
required.

Temporary Road Closures
B2103 King Edwards Parade adjoined with B2103 Grand Parade - from a
point at the western side of the junction with U2145 Cavendish
Place to a point at the eastern side of the junction with U2040
Silverdale Road, including the adjacent Upper and Lower Promenade
and the Pier Head.
U2050 Jevington Gardens; U2052 Wilmington Square; U2046 Carlisle
Road; U2065 Lascelles Terrace; U2066 Howard Square (north and south
bound); U2067 Burlington Place; B2106 Devonshire Place (north and
south bound); U2137 Hartington Place & U2138 Trinity Place -
between U2053 Compton Street and B2103 Grand Parade.
B2106 Terminus Road - between A259 Seaside Road and B2103 Grand
Parade.
An alternative route for through traffic will be signed locally as
follows;
eastbound via U2040 Silverdale Road - U2053 Compton Street - U2138
Trinity Place – U2135 Trinity Trees – A259 Seaside Road
– U2145 Marine Parade Road.
westbound via U2145 Marine Parade Road - A259 Seaside Road –
U2146 Cavendish Place – U2144 Pevensey Road – A259
Pevensey Road – A259 Lismore Road – A259 Bolton Road
– A259 Memorial roundabout – B2106 Devonshire Place
– U2053 Compton Street – U2040 Silverdale Road.
The Eastbourne South Downs Way (lower promenade) - closed from the
west access (Wish Tower car park) at the Western Lawns in an
easterly direction to the western access to Eastbourne Pier, to
include a closure approximately 50 metres east of the access to the
pier along with a closure at the north access to the Pier.
Pedestrian access will continue to be facilitated on discretion of
the Police or Marshals but may at times be diverted via a locally
signed diversion route or under direction from the Police or
Marshals.
