NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Section 84 (1) and (2) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling
powers, coming into operation on 27 August 2018, which would extend
the 30 mph speed limit and introduce a 40 mph speed limit in the
following lengths of road;
A copy of the made Order, plans showing the
lengths of road and a statement of the County Council’s
reasons for proposing the Order can be inspected in Reception, East
Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes
Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and at Lewes Library, Styles Field,
Friars Walk, Lewes BN7 2LZ Monday 10am - 2pm, Tuesday, Friday,
Saturday 10am – 5pm and Thursday 10am - 6pm.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of
its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers
conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the
grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Regulation Act or
of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in
relation to the Order, may within six weeks of the date the Order
was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

30 mph Speed Limit
C322 North Common Road - from a point 76 metres northeast of the
north-eastern boundary of Weald House north-eastwards for a
distance of 26 metres.
40 mph Speed Limit
C322 North Common Road - from a point 102 metres northeast of the
boundary between Weald House and Church of Jesus Christ,
north-eastwards and then eastwards to a point 8 metres west of the
access road to St. Peter & St. James Hospice.
The existing 30 mph on C6 Green Road will remain in force as
specified in the Order.
