Purpose:

To allow SGN to carry out mains replacement works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road in phases;

Decision:

The Order commences 3 September 2018 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will be undertaken consecutively between 3 September 2018 and 23 November 2018 depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closures
Phase 1 - U5101 Middle Way and North Way - from outside 32a Middle Way to the junction of U5101 Windover Crescent, a distance of 380 metres.

The alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works via U5101 East Way/U5101 Windover Crescent – U5101 Mount Harry Road – U5101 Highdown Road – A275 Nevill Road – U5101 Nevill Crescent and vice versa.

Phase 2 - U5101 Mount Harry Road - from the junction of Firle Crescent to the junction of Highdown Road including junctions of Firle Crescent, Hamsey Crescent, East Way, Caburn Crescent and Windover Crescent, a distance of 255 metres.

The alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for the duration of the works via U5101 Firle Crescent – U5101 Highdown Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
