To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
carriageway surfacing works, East Sussex County Council have made
an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the
following lengths of road in phases;
The Order commences 11 October 2018 and lasts
for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed,
whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will
be undertaken in phases between 11 October 2018 and 6 December 2018
depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closures - from 20:00 hours to
06:00 hours
A267 Tunbridge Wells Road/Heathfield Road/Mayfield Road/ Mayfield
Roundabout, Mark Cross/Rotherfield/Five Ashes/Cross in
Hand/Frant/Mayfield - from the junction with C70 Bunny Lane to the
junction with B2102 High Street, a distance of 18,000 metres.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for
the duration of the works via B2102 High Street – Lewes Road
– B2192 Lewes Road, Blackboys – B2192 Lewes Road,
Framfield – A22 Eastbourne Road, Halland – Uckfield
Bypass – A26 Mill Pond Road – Five Ash Down –
Uckfield Road – Beacon Road – Eridge Road – C70
Bunny Lane and vice versa.
To facilitate these works during these dates the following roads
will also need to be closed;
A267 Mayfield Roundabout /Mayfield Bypass /Wellbrook Hill - from
the junction with A272 Summer Hill to the junction with C14
Tunbridge Wells Road, a distance of 1400 metres
C14 Wellbrook /Stone Cross, Mayfield - from the junction with A267
Mayfield Roundabout to the junction with C14 Newick Lane, a
distance of 200 metres.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for
the duration of the works via C14 Stone Cross – C14 Station
Road – C14 Tunbridge Wells Road – A267 Tunbridge Wells
Road – Argos Hill – Tunbridge Wells Road –
Mayfield Road – Frant Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A26
Eridge Road – Beacon Road – Uckfield Road – Five
Ash Down – Mill Pond Road – A22 Uckfield Bypass –
Eastbourne Road, Halland – B2192 Lewes Road, Framfield
– Lewes Road, Blackboys – B2102 High Street and vice
versa.
