To allow East Sussex Highways to remove and
replace the overhead footbridge, East Sussex County Council have
made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the
following;
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians
via the signal controlled pedestrian crossing on B2104 Langney
Rise, vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained
whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via
B2104 Friday Street – B2104 Willingdon roundabout –
B2191 Willingdon Drove – A22 Shinewater roundabout –
A22 Highfield Link – A2290 Lottbridge roundabout –
A2290 Lottbridge Drove – A2290 Birch roundabout – A2290
Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside roundabout – A259
Seaside – A259 St Anthonys Avenue – A259 Langney
roundabout – B2104 Langney Rise and vice versa.
The Order commences 17 May 2021 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
above depending upon the weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closure
Langney Rise – from its junction with B2191 Hide Hollow to
Esso Garage.
This closure is scheduled to be in place from 28 - 31 May 2021 and
from 30 July - 2 August 2021.
Temporary Footway Closure
Langney Rise – from its junction with B2191 Hide Hollow to
Esso Garage.
This closure is scheduled to be in place from 17 May - 13 August
2021.
Temporary Footbridge Closure
Langney Rise – entire length of the footbridge
This closure is scheduled to be in place from 17 May - 13 August
2021.
