Purpose:

To allow South East Water to carry out new mains works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
Walshes Road/ Stone Cross Road - from the junction with U7168 Luxford Road to the junction with C483 Burnt Oak Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as follows;
Light vehicles via C483 Alice Bright Lane - C11 Whitehill Road - C252 Church Road - B2100 Crowborough Hill - C11 Western Road and vice versa.
HGVs via C483 Alice Bright Lane - C254 Hurtis Hill - Sheep Plain - A26 Beacon Road - Eridge Road - C70 Bunny Lane - A267 Frant Road - Mayfield Road - Tunbridge Wells Road - B2100 Catts Hill - Station Road - Church Road - Rotherfield Road - C11 Western Road and vice versa.

The Order commences on 24 July 2021 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 July & 19 October 2021 depending upon the weather conditions.
