Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
Cooksbridge Road - from the junction with U5072 Malthouse Way to the junction with U5012 Hamsey Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A275 Cooksbridge Road, Resting Oak Hill, South Road, South Street, Chailey Green Road, East Grinstead Road, Sheffield Park, Lewes Road, London Road, Lewes Road – A22 Wych Cross, Millbrook Hill, High Street, Fords Green Road, Courtland Road, Horney Common Road, Maresfield Bypass, Uckfield Bypass – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road, Malling Down, Malling Hill, Malling Street, Cuilfail Tunnel, Southerham Road – A27(T) – A275 Brighton Road, Nevill Road, Offham Road, The Street, Cooksbridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 19 February 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs on 19 & 20 February 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
