Purpose:

To allow preparations to be made in the race start and finish area, and to facilitate the safety of participants, organisers and the travelling public, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road along the route to be taken by the competitors for a short period of time during the event:-

Temporary Road Closures – Sunday 24 March 2024 from 05:00hrs – 15:00hrs
Sea Road (U3105), Grosvenor Crescent (A259), Bexhill Road (A259), West Hill Road (U3106), St Vincents Road (U3107), Filsham Road (C238), Harley Shute Road (B2092), Crowhurst Road (B2092), Queensway (B2092), The Ridge West (A2100), The Ridge (B2093), Winchelsea Road (C825), Rye Road (A259), Old Top Road (U3240), Middle Road (U3240), Fairlight Road (C231), Old London Road (A259), Saxon Road (U3214), Canute Road (U3232), Harold Road (U3214), Dudley Road (U3222), Ashburnham Road (U3224), All Saints Street (U3214), Rock A Nore Road (U3212), East Beach Street (A259), East Parade (A259), Marine Parade (A259), Marina (A259) (closure of Marina may be required during the mini-run event), Grosvenor Gardens (U3105) Combe Valley Way (A2690) between The Queensway junction and the roundabout accessing the Industrial Estate and Seaside Road (U3105) from its junction with Grosvenor Gardens to its junction with Seaside Way.

The alternative routes for through traffic will be directed by Police/ Marshalls. Marshalls will assist in diverting traffic via Wrestwood Road, A259 and A21.

Temporary Road Closures – Saturday 23 March 2024
To enable preparations in the start/ finish area Sea Road (U3105) and Grosvenor Gardens (U3105) will be closed the day before the race.

Through traffic will be diverted (westbound) via Grosvenor Crescent and (eastbound) via Seaside Road, Seaside Way, Bexhill Road and Grosvenor Crescent.

Access for pedestrians should not be affected and vehicular access for residents and to properties within the closed area will be maintained wherever possible. The restrictions will be lifted as soon as the event is complete and the Police are satisfied that it is safe to re-open the roads.
