The Interim Provision Service (IPS) has
increased overall this year by a significant amount due to the
demand for its services by children and young people which is
continuous. To implement a competitive process at this stage would
impact on the continuation of the services which is already being
provided under the Letter of Agreement and would not be an
efficient use of the Council’s resources.
The proposed provider already has been identified as having the
relevant experience of providing the services and has the
established stakeholder relationships and infrastructure in place
in order to successfully deliver the service requirements.
Approval of a Direct Award Contract for South
Brockwells Farm - a service to provide teachers/tutors for children
and young people on the Interim Provision Service (IPS)
caseload.
This is to be awarded for a short duration and will be an interim
measure until the requirement can be delivered via the Education
Department’s upcoming Preferred Supplier Approved List.
When the value of the contract was calculated
there were only two options for consideration:
Direct award; or
Do nothing
