Purpose:

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closure
The Goffs - from the junction with U2100 Moat Croft Road to the junction with U2037 Southfields Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 High Street, Church Street, East Dean Road, Eastbourne Road, Friston Hill, Seaford Road, East Dean Road, Eastbourne Road, Sutton Road, Sutton Park Road, Clinton Place, Station Approach, Claremont Road, Buckle bypass, Newhaven Road, Seaford Road, Denton roundabout, The Drove, B&Q roundabout, Drove Road - A26 New Road Industrial Area - A26(T) New Road Industrial Area, Beddingham Road South, Beddingham Road, Newhaven Road - A27(T) Beddingham roundabout, Eastbourne Road, Lewes Road, Drusillas roundabout, Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road - A2270 Eastbourne Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout, Willingdon Road, Upperton Road - A259 The Goffs and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 00:05hrs to 07:00hrs on 15 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
