Purpose:

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Decision:

Temporary Road Closures
Seaford Road - from the junction with A259 Denton roundabout to the junction with P5025 Mill Drove.
Diversion via A259 Newhaven Road, Buckle bypass, Claremont Road, Station Approach, Clinton Place, Sutton Park Road, Sutton Road, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Seaford Road, Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Eastbourne Road, Lewes Road, Drusillas roundabout, Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road, Beddingham roundabout – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, B&Q roundabout, The Drove, Denton roundabout and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 13 & 15 April 2026.

Diversion via A259 Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Crossways roundabout, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Eastbourne Road, Lewes Road, Drusillas roundabout, Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road – A27 Beddingham roundabout – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, B&Q roundabout, The Drove, Denton roundabout, Newhaven Road, Buckle bypass, Claremont Road, Station Approach, Clinton Place, Sutton Park Road, Sutton Road, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Seaford Road and vice versa.
Restriction is anticipated to be in place on 15 & 16 April 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 13 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as set out above.
