To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out
carriageway recycling and surfacing works, East Sussex County
Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
The Order commences 2 November 2018 and lasts
for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed,
whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the works will
be undertaken between 2 and 27 November 2018 depending upon the
weather conditions.

Temporary Road Closure
A265 High Street - from outside the fire station to outside U7430
New Parade, a distance of 380 metres.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic signed and maintained for
the duration of the works as follows;
HGVs via B2203 Tower Street – Hailsham Road – Maynards
Green Road – High Street, Horam – A267 Little London
Road – High Street – Horam Road – North Street
– New North Street – Around the A22 Boship Roundabout
and back onto the A267 and vice versa;
All Other Traffic via B2203 Tower Street – Hailsham Road
– Maynards Green Road – High Street, Horam – A267
Little London Road – A265 Cross in Hand Road and vice
versa.
