.    The Panelraised the following issues andquestions of the Commissioner:

 

   The increasingincidence of roughsleepinginSussex.SussexPolice were working with partners and an analysthadbeenengaged to compile data to facilitate agreaterunderstandingof the issue.SussexPolice was working withHealth representatives,socialservicesand housing servicesto target areas witha pop-uphub and triage rough-sleepers.The Commissioner was keen to support the work being undertaken bylocal authorities

 

.   The attendance ofofficers atcommunity meetings such as LocalCommunityPanels.The new policingmodel wouldcontain arrangements to ensure thata link between the Police and local communities was retained.   The morale withinSussexPolice followingreorganisationand anysurveyof satisfaction undertaken within the Force.When the Commissioner was first electedit was recognised that there was an issue regardingmorale in the Force.

 

   The Commissioner has met with Unison,associations ofofficers and staffgroupings to raise awareness ofchanges and developmentsin the Force.

 

   How policinginformslicencing andsubstantiatingobjections from the Police to licensing applications.The issue would be raised withseniorofficers.   Restorative justice andoutcomes of the policy.The programme had been arranged through the Commissioners Officeand had beenconsidereda success with 500cases deliveredsuccessfullysince its introduction.The programme had beenrecognised as aneffective methodof preventingcrime and reducing reoffending.

 

   Update onSpecialConstables.The numberof SpecialConstableswas increasing witha further 30/40to be recruitedin February 2016.

 

   The perspective of the Commissioneron the consultation regarding Police andFire Service collaboration.The Commissioner welcomed theopportunity forgreatercollaboration between the PoliceandlocalFire and Rescue Services.
