The reason in allowing taxis, motorcycles and pedal cycles in the Bus Lanes is to secure the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic. This is the confirmation of The East Sussex (Hastings Borough)(Experimental Traffic Regulation) Order (Permitted Use by Taxis, Motorcycles & Pedal Cycles in the Bus Lanes in A259 Bexhill Road) 2019

A copy of the Order, plans showing the lengths of road and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the permanent Order, may be examined in Reception, East Sussex County Council, St Anne’s Crescent, County Hall, Lewes on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm; at Hastings Library, Brassey Institute, 13 Claremont, Hastings TN34 1HE on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 10am-5pm, Wednesday 10am-1pm and Thursday 10am-6pm; or online at www.eastsussexhighways.com/bexhill-road

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Road Traffic Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date the Order is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
