A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access
for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with
an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A27(T) Lewes
bypass, Ashcombe roundabout - A275 Brighton Road - A277 Western
Road, High Street – A2029 Market Street, North Street, Little
East Street – A26 Phoenix Causeway, Brooks Road roundabout,
Malling Street, Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout and westbound via A26
Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout, Malling Street, Brooks Road roundabout,
Phoenix Causeway – A2029 Eastgate Street - A277 High Street,
Western Road - A275 Brighton Road - A27(T) Ashcombe roundabout,
Lewes bypass, Southerham roundabout.
The Order commences 13 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18
months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed
below depending upon the weather conditions.
